That was the question posed to the community by MidCoast Council in October last year and since then they’ve listened, collated your feedback, developed two new brand options and now they’d like to know what you think and if these concepts reflect what you told them.

The feedback from MidCoast Council’s initial consultation with the community around the new MidCoast identity was fantastic, with over 450 surveys completed, along with great attendance at the 15 workshops that took place across the region.

MidCoast Council’s Coordinator, Communications, Donna Hudson, explains, “We’ve always known that people who live here are passionate about their region and this really came out in our conversations with community. Across the region, people told us both what they value about living here and what unique characteristics they believe make up our region. This invaluable feedback has not only informed the two brand concepts currently out on display, but we will continue to use this information to develop our Community Plan,” said Donna.

Over the next three weeks, everyone in our community can jump onto MidCoast Council’s website at www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/Identity, watch the video that explains how the two brand options were developed and have your say by completing a short online survey.  Alternatively, information and surveys are available in all Council libraries and customer service centres.

“We’d really like to hear from as many people in our community as possible about the proposed concepts, so they can take ownership of our new identity,” added Donna.

There will be numerous opportunities for residents to have a chat with MidCoast Council staff about the new brand and the new Community Strategic Plan during April and May. It is expected that the preferred brand option will be ready for rollout at the end of April. For more information, visit www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/Identity.
