MidCoast residents win cash-loaded gift cards
Published on 20 October 2020
The #ShopMidCoast gift cards are well and truly in circulation after an exciting launch month and 11 lucky winners sharing a prize pool of $2000 in cash-loaded cards.
“Our first month has seen over 200 gift cards being activated with more than $10,000 loaded onto them, which will now all be spent through local businesses,” said MidCoast Council’s Coordinator of Economic Growth, Robyn Brennan.
“We’re also very excited to see over 170 businesses, right across the MidCoast region, become participants – offering so much choice when it comes to spending your #ShopMidCoast gift card.”
The #ShopMidCoast card has the benefit of no other gift card – it can be used at multiple venues multiple times until the money runs out and has a three year expiry. This makes it a great way to share the money amongst local businesses who have been affected by the drought, bush fires and COVID19.
“Businesses across the MidCoast are embracing new ways to do business, and it’s great to see so many have already jumped on board the Why Leave Town program.”
Every card purchased and registered during the launch month of September was entered into the draw to win one of 10 #ShopMidCoast gift cards worth $100 each, plus a major draw for a $1000 card that can be used across the region.
Mayor David West conducted the draw at Council’s chambers, selecting the winners who shared in a prize pool of $2,000.
Winners have been published on the ShopMidCoast website.
The #ShopMidCoast gift cards can be purchased at 20 local stores throughout the MidCoast region.
