In-person flood recovery support

From 19 to 23 July, anyone affected by the recent flooding in MidCoast can get in-person advice at one of three Recovery Assistance Points.

Staff will be on-hand to chat to you about the emergency support available. The MidCoast local government area was officially declared a state of natural disaster after the storm on Wednesday 6 July.

As a declared disaster-impacted region, MidCoast residents can received fast-tracked support.

Come along to a Recovery Assistance Point:

  • Tuesday 19 July, Bulahdelah School of Arts Hall, 76 Crawford Street, Bulahdelah, 10am – 3pm
  • Wednesday 20 July, Manning Uniting Church Auditorium , 29 Albert Street, Taree, 10am – 3pm
  • Thursday 21 July, Club Forster, 19 Strand Street, Forster, 10am – 3pm
  • Friday 22 July, Club Forster, 19 Strand Street, Forster,10am – 3pm
  • Saturday 23 July, Club Forster, 19 Strand Street, Forster, 10am – 2pm.

There will be the following support:

  • information about what funding is available for disaster recovery (Service NSW)
  • assistance with applying for rural recovery funding (Department Primary Industries)
  • advice on rural flood recovery issues (Local Land Services)
  • mental health support
  • information and referral pathways advice from the National Resilience and Recovery Agency
  • information and support from Resilience NSW
  • local community support from MidCoast Council’s Community Recovery Team

There are disaster recovery payments available to residents impacted by flooding from the Australian Government.

Primary producers may also be eligible for a range of financial supports including Special Disaster Grants of up to $75,000. Rural Landholder Grants and further funding will be available to primary producers and critical industries to assist in the protection of supply chains, boosting recovery and rebuilding efforts.
