Have your say on revised plan for Wingham Central Park
Published on 31 March 2025
The Wingham community is invited to have their say on a revised master plan for Wingham Central Park.
The plan is open for feedback until Thursday 8 May.
MidCoast Council has amended the draft plan to reflect community feedback.
Feedback was provided through almost 4000 online votes and 182 written submissions.
Based on this feedback, the final plan aims to improve usability of the space balanced with keeping elements that the community values.
A number of changes have been made to the revised plan based on community feedback received during the consultation.
The vampire jet and log will be retained in the park until the end of their lives. The proposed stage has been reduced in scale and has been repositioned to the north west of the park. The toilet block will be relocated at the end of its useful life to the north of the park and tie in with the updated location of the playground.
Existing trees and date palms have mostly been retained and additional trees, date palms and planting beds incorporated. Preserving current car spaces has also been addressed.
There are other changes, head online to look at the full revised plan.
Projects in the final plan will need to be funded by future grants which can be applied for by both Council and community groups. The plan will support grant applications.
This will be your last opportunity to give feedback before any final amendments are made and Councillors endorse the plan.
To have your say head to https://haveyoursay.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/wingham-central-park-master-plan before Thursday 8 May.
