Everyone is invited to view three new exhibitions showing at Manning Regional Art Gallery between 22 November and 18 January 2025.

Beric Henderson brings a unique perspective in The Seven Seas with his distinctive ocean themed artworks.

With a background in art and a PhD in science, Beric has had the opportunity over many years to collaborate with scientists, artists and filmmakers.

During the past five years he has turned his attention to the oceans and the impact of climate change, illustrated by drawings made up of thousands of lines and three-dimensional paintings that challenge the senses.

Beric will give a talk on Saturday 23 November at 11am, where he will share his insights into the creative process. Come along and be inspired.

Sydney artist, Laraine Deer, is presenting her first exhibition in the MidCoast, titled Landscapes from the Heart.

This series of plein air paintings are the result of a seven month journey across Australia in 2022. The trip was explorative in nature, and her artworks a response to the vast coastlines and desert interiors of the Western Australia, Central Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia.

Laraine wanted to experience a direct connection to the landscape by working with natural light, outside in the bush. The result is eighteen small works that delve into the heart of the Australian landscape.

Working primarily in large scale drawing, The Good -  Anna Louise Richardson renders realistic scenes that speak strongly to Richardson’s experience of rural life as a member of a multi-generational farming family. The Good emerges from Richardson’s broader investigations into the complex relationships between humans and the natural world, tinged by grief and the competing demands of nurturing new life. In a world increasingly defined by division and hardship, Richardson’s work points to the necessary act of radical optimism needed to seek goodness in all things.

The Good is curated by Rachel Arndt and Dr Lee-Anne Hall and is a Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, The Condensery and Museums and Galleries of NSW touring exhibition.

These three exhibitions will open at 6pm on Friday 22 November.

Everyone is welcome to come along to opening night, entry is free.
