Old Bar Sewage Treatment Plant

Environment Protection Licence #2391
The Old Bar sewage treatment plant Environment Protection Licence (#2391) specifies concentration limits for specific water quality parameters from treated effluent prior to discharge. These limits are not to be exceeded throughout the licence period occurring annually from the 1st of June. Biological oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), pH, oil and grease are monitored monthly as a requirement of the licence. The relevant concentration limits for effluent quality are listed in table 1, there is no specific concentration requirement for pH. Note that monitoring is conducted at EPA Point 3 to determine compliance with the limits detailed for points 1 and 4.To view effluent monitoring results click on the link Old Bar Effluent Results below.

 

Groundwater monitoring is also conducted as a requirement of the licence.
