Bulky Waste

Our new bookable service gives you the flexibility to dispose of your bulky household and scrap metal items when it's most convenient for you.

Eligible households receive one free bulky waste collection per financial year. Additional collections cost $180 each. Properties with six or more dwellings must arrange a combined bulky waste collection - contact your strata / body corporate or managing agent for more information.

Help reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill – All general bulky waste and e-waste will be landfilled, so please try rehoming any re-usable items instead or recycling at one of our waste management facilities.

Preparing your bulky waste

Sort first

Sort the items you’re intending to place out for collection into two separate piles:

  • Metal and whitegoods (doors, latches and locking devices removed) – these items will be recycled and diverted from landfill
  • General and electronic waste - items in this pile will be sent to landfill so consider other disposal options first, especially if in reasonable condition /working order

Check the list below to find out what items will be accepted as part of the bulky waste collection, and items that aren’t suitable for collection.

Size matters

This is a 'bulky' waste collection, so smaller items like clothing and general household rubbish will not be collected.

  • Your total pile must not be larger than a standard 7' x 4' trailer (around 2.1m x 1.2m)
  • Individual items must not exceed 30kg in weight

Mattress drop-off

Free mattress drop-off is available when you book a bulky waste collection:

Wire spring mattresses and bed bases cannot be placed out for collection.

However, when you book your bulky waste collection, you’ll be eligible to drop them off for free at your nearest Waste Management Centre.

A limit of two mattresses, or one mattress and one bed base applies. Check your bulky waste confirmation for the applicable drop-off period.
