Tea Gardens Waste Management Centre

tea gardens waste facility

Tea Gardens Waste Management Centre accepts most forms of waste not suitable for kerbside collection. JR Richards and Sons and their sub-contractors operate this waste facility.

Tea Gardens is a waste Transfer Station for residents to dispose of their excess waste. Unlike the Landfill where waste is buried, the Transfer Station is a drop-off centre where all waste is separated. NB Trucks with general (non-recyclable) or unsorted waste will not be accepted and will need to use another Landfill.

The centre includes a licenced Landfill, a Community Recycling Centre for problem waste, and a Reviva - 'Tip Shop'.

Waste loads are weighed on entry, and again on exit, so that you can be charged accurately for the load you are disposing of. Loads that are under 60kg will have a minimum charge and anything above 60kg will be weighed in and out to ensure that you only pay for what you bring to the landfill.

This facility accepts these items free of charge:

  • Household recyclable materials
  • Problem waste like paint, batteries, electronic waste and scrap metal
  • E-waste such as computers, phones, cameras, TVs
  • Pre-loved items can be dropped at the Tip Shop such as furniture, tools, toys

This facility accepts these items (fees apply, see below for fees and charges guide):

  • Green waste
  • Bricks, tiles, concrete,
  • Mattresses
  • Unsorted waste
