Diamond Beach

Diamond-Beach.jpeg

Diamond Beach is a gorgeous 6km stretch of golden sand renowned for its natural beauty, relaxed atmosphere and pet-friendly status.

It’s one of the few beaches in the region where dogs and their owners can enjoy the beach off-leash 24/7, and beach horse riding is permitted, making it a haven for pet owners, families, and nature lovers seeking a tranquil coastal escape.

The beach can be accessed at its southern end at Diamond Beach village, or at its northern end on foot from Saltwater National Park, an area of deep cultural significance to the Biripi people.

There is no 4WD vehicle access to the beach.

For those seeking accessible coastal experiences, there are wheelchair-accessible beach viewing platforms at the southern end of the beach and at the main beach access point in the village. These spots provide spectacular views of the beach including resident dolphin pods year-round, as well as migrating humpback whales between May and November.

Lifeguard patrols operate only during peak school holiday periods, including Christmas, New Year, January, and Easter, and are limited to the main beach entrance area.

Village amenities include cafes and takeaways, bottle shop and quality pet friendly and accessible accommodation options.
