Boomerang Beach and Beach Reserve

Boomerang Beach access point

A very popular surf beach this beach is renowned for its fantastic surfing conditions and its sheltered northern aspect from the north easterly winds that prevail over our summer months.

The beach is 'boomerang' shaped and is ideal for swimming with protection from prevailing winds at either end.

It is balanced at each end with headlands and faces east capturing the best swell from the Pacific and offering brilliant sunrises.

The rock ledges assist in forming great waves which gives Boomerang Beach the accolades as being known as the best surfing beach in the Great Lakes area.

Because of this many national surfing competitions are held here.

The beach is around 1200m in length and has various access points off Beach Road.

Both the north and south ends have public toilets, viewing platforms and outdoor showers with the north end offering picnic shelters.

This beachside reserve includes a waterbottle refill station.

This beach is booked by surf schools, local board riding competitions as well as national surfing competitions.
