A major road realignment and roundabout construction on The Lakes Way at South Forster will kick off from early October, with an expected six month timetable for completion of works.

The Lakes Way will be realigned between Tea Tree Road and Sweet Pea Road, along with construction of a major culvert allowing for the diversion of Dunns Creek.

A roundabout will also be constructed on The Lakes Way which will connect the new Palms Lake Estate and The Southern Parkway when it is extended.

The work is being undertaken by Council’s contractors in a staged process, which will allow for two travel lanes to remain open for the maximum period possible during works.

However, over the six month period, motorists should expect changed traffic conditions, and are urged to obey all traffic directions and exercise caution when travelling through the worksite.

Preliminary works are already underway, involving adjustments to the water mains and electrical poles and wires to allow for the road realignment.
